BURNS-BALDWIN Model 706 ES-335 style semi-hollow body translucent red finish, made in Italy assembled in the US This a beautiful Baldwin-Burns model 706 double-cutaway, thinline, translucent red/cherry red, semi-hollow body, electric guitar. It's in very good condition and sounds amazing. All the electronics work perfectly and the neck is straight. It was made in Italy and the United States. It's serial number 13xx so it is most likely from 1968. These guitar were made from 1967 - 1970. The main parts were made in Italy and assembled at the Baldwin factory in Fayetteville, Arkansas. A Burns neck was added at the US factory with the signature scroll-top headstock. It's possible other components were made by Burns or Baldwin directly but this appears to be largely Italian made parts including the pick-ups. The pickups are "Bar Type" humbuckers with adjustable screw poles and a Baldwin logo stamped on them. It has an adjustable roller bridge, with a fixed "B" tailpiece done in a very groovy 1960's style.Description from VintageSilvertones.com

The Baldwin 700 series guitars were a budget oriented line that included this 706, a 706 with a trapeze tailpiece and die-cut "B" (no whammy), a 12 string called 712 (and 712T with a thinner neck), and a 704 bass. The guitars came in Cherry Red and Sunburst colors.

GENERAL INFO/CONDITION:
The finish is in very good++ condition. It is almost near mint but does have some scratches on the back and a very minor finish crack on the lower cutaway. The body has a really nice flame and is fully bound. The pickguard is warped slightly but does not interfere with playing.

Closed-back, all metal tuners in very good working condition.

NECK:
The fully bound neck is in extremely good shape with 23 frets including a zero-fret. The fingerboard is rosewood and has mother of pearl inlays with dot markers on the side binding.Description from VintageSilvertones.com

PICKUPS:
Two humbucking pickups are medium strength individually but sound loudest together. There's one tone and volume control for each pickup with a toggle switch to select neck, bridge or both together. The neck pickup is smooth and jazzy sounding. The bridge pickup is mildly twangy with more of country twang tone.
