This is a Danelectro 56-U2 Lefty, single-cutaway, electric guitar. It is a reissue, made in Korea, which is based on the original 1956 U2 Danelectro. It is a close reproduction of the original U2 which was sold under both the Danelectro and Silvertone brand name for Sears. It has a black, high gloss finish with two lipstick pickups. The neck is straight and all the electronics work properly. This is a very nice playing Danelectro. It includes a good quality gig bag.Description from VintageSilvertones.com
This Danelectro is practically brand new. It's barely been played. There is no wear on it all except for some minor strumming scratches on the pickguard. Everything works properly and is original. The body has a hardwood top and bottom with plywood frame. From VintageSilvertones.com
Single Danelectro "D" branded closed back, tuners with plastic keys, in very good working order.
Bolt-on neck with five bolts. The neck is straight with dot inlays on rosewood fretboard, 21 frets, and 25" scale. Frets are in virtually new condition. No playing wear on the hard maple neck. Metal nut.
2 Lipstick pickups - strong and good working order. These lipstick pickups emulate the originals by using a chrome plated brass tube and Alnico magnet. The neck pickup is full and smooth sounding. The bridge is more twangy. Both together sound great because they've got a bit of a bit, bright and loudest. There are stacked volume and tone controls for each pickup. All the electronics are both in proper working order.
