SILVERTONE 1375
Circa 1955 - DANELECTRO

Silvertone 1375 Danelectro, made in NJ, early, maroon artificial leather, 1 pickups, single cutaway 1955 This is a Silvertone 1375 made by Danelectro of Neptune, New Jersey. It features a solid hardwood, poplar body covered by maroon, artificial leather with contrasting white head plate and guard plate on which all of the electronics are mounted, one single coil pickup actually concealed under the pickguard, a single cutaway, and a four way adjustable unplated aluminum bridge with a Brazilian rosewood saddle. The 1375 has an aluminum truss rod that extends from the nut all the way through to the bridge and it can be seen on the surface of the guitar down the middle of the back of the neck and on the front center of the body. This guitar is really clean, in good condition, and all original except for an added input jack reinforcement. It is a very early and rare model that still looks lovely after approximately 60 years of existence. With its fast action and terrific tone, this guitar plays like a dream. Get this rare, early Silvertone before someone else does.

CONDITION:
This guitar is in good condition and all original except for an added input jack reinforcement. It is very clean and beautiful, almost like new. The artificial leather finish is very clean for its age except for a spot of some minimal, barely visible wear on the bottom edge of the bass side of the guitar. There is also some minor paint wear on the back of the neck and on the top edges on the back of the headstock. This guitar looks and sounds great for an approximately 60 year old instrument.

TUNERS:
The double three-inline opened-back tuners with plastic buttons are in very good working condition. All of the tuners are smooth and hold the pitch well.

NECK:
The neck is in good shape. It is a straight, bolted-on neck with circular aluminum inlays on a rosewood fretboard, an aluminum nut, 20 frets, and a 25" scale. There is some playing wear to the paint on the back of the neck and some very minor playing wear on the top two frets that does not affect the playability or tone of the instrument. The headstock, featuring a horizontal silkscreened Silvertone logo with a lightening bolt underneath on a white plate, has no wear on the front but has some wear along the back, top edges. The neck is kept straight and supported by an aluminum truss rod that starts at the nut and goes all the way through the body and stops at the bridge. This rod is visible on the rear of the neck, giving the neck a flat, squared-off appearance down the center of the rear of the neck. It can also be seen on the front of the body down the center as it heads toward the bridge. With its fast action, the neck feels fantastic under your fingers.

PICKUPS:
The single coil pickup, that is tucked under the pickguard in the neck position, has a clean, smooth, strong, bright tone. This guitar has a tone and volume knob and a three position instantaneous tone switch. With the proper usage of the tone switch and tone knobs, the guitar is very versatile offering the player tones suitable for rock, blues, country, rockabilly, soul, funk, jazz and many more musical styles. The pots and switch are clean sounding and in fine working order.
