This is a sunburst-red, 1967, solid body, 2 pickup, Silvertone made by Danelectro of Neptune, New Jersey. It's the higher-end two pick up amp-in-case model (without the amp-in-case). This is the much more rare version with the tortoise-shell pick guard; they usually had a white pick guards. The guitar originally came with an amp-in-case and accessories but they are NOT included. It's one of the last Danelectro's made for Sears.Description from VintageSilvertones.com
This Silvertone guitar is functionally in very good condition. The finish is somewhat dulled on the front but still has a nice red burst glow. Overall the paint is in pretty good shape. There are several paint chips around the lower edge. It has black plastic with aluminum etched knobs and the original metal strap pins. It is largely original except for some modifications to the electronics and tremolo. The tremolo spring and arm were removed so it is a fixed tailpiece.Description from VintageSilvertones.com
Six-inline, closed-back, skate-key tuners with chrome/nickel (possibly) plated. All metal except end enclosure is plastic. The tuners very good working condition.Description from VintageSilvertones.com
The bolt-on neck is in very good shape. It is straight with medium-fast action. The fretboard is rosewood with virtually no wear. The 21 frets are all in very good condition and do not buzz. The back of the neck was touched up slightly with a little red paint but you have to look closely to notice it. Circular plastic/mother-of-pearl fret markers on both the fretboard and side of the neck.Description from VintageSilvertones.com
The two lipstick pickups sound great and will work well for surf, blues, punk, rock, country and a whole lot more. The neck pickup is full sounding. The bridge pickup is bright and twangy. The body style is similar to a Jaguar. The pots and toggle switch have all been replaced. So they are all in very good working order.
