STRATOTONE - HARMONY
circa 1962

Silvertone 1423 - Harmony Jupiter 2 DeArmond pickups, black sparkle finish, made in Chicago circa 1962This is an early 1960's Silvertone made by Harmony of Chicago. The Jupiter 1423 is the top of Harmony's Stratotone line. The body style is similar to a Les Paul. It has DeArmond pickups, beautiful mother-of-pearl block inlays on the neck, a black finish speckled with rich gold color and the "Blender" control which regulates the bass and treble pickups. The guitar features a fully adjustable bridge and a fixed trapeze style tailpiece. The fast action feels good on the fingers and the sweet tone tells the story of its over 54 years of rocking and rolling. PICKUPS:Description from VintageSilvertones.com
Two DeArmonds that give a great surf or heavy rock sound but could work for a varity of styles. Neck (bass) pickup is very strong, rich, and loud with a bite. When the tone knob is turned low the volume decreases too, but when the tone is full the pickup is potent, clean and bright. Bridge (treble) pickup is very twangy, bright and loud with a smooth bite. Overall, the pickups work well and sound excellent. This guitar is capable of producing a wide variety of tones suitable for many styles including, rock, jazz, funk, soul, country and blues. Individual volume and tone controls for both pickups along with the Blender control and three position pickup selector switch.Description from VintageSilvertones.com
