This is a Silvertone 1303 (Danelectro model: U2) electric guitar made by Danelectro of Neptune, New Jersey in 1958. It has a black finish with two lipstick pickups and a semi-hollow body. It's far more rare than the single pickup models. The guitar is in very good condtion for a fifty year old axe! The neck is straight with nice fast action. The electronics all work correctly. The pickups are wired in serial. The tuners are 100% original and work properly. It has minor nicks and playing wear. But overall, it's in very nice shape. The body was largely repainted but small portions were not, so you can see the original finish in places. So it's more of a player's guitar rather than a collector's item. It comes with the original hardshell case; which is in very worn condition but protects the guitar properly. The case dimensions are 41.5" x 16" x 4.5".Description from VintageSilvertones.com
The neck has a Brazilian Rosewood fretboard which was covered with a sealant long ago (it's slightly worn off from playing). The frets are in good shape. The screened on logo is slightly worn. Overall the guitar is 100% original except both strap pins/buttons were replaced and moved (new holes were drilled for both.)Description from VintageSilvertones.com
